GREEN PEPPER is a delightful Korean restaurant located at 2020 Murray Ave in Pittsburgh, PA. With a cozy atmosphere complemented by friendly service, it has quickly gained favor among diners seeking authentic Korean cuisine. From my visit, I noticed that the menu features appealing pictures, making ordering an enjoyable experience for both seasoned aficionados and newcomers alike.
Patrons rave about generous portions and flavorful dishes. The bibimbap and Korean chicken wings often steal the spotlight due to their depth of flavor and sizzling presentation. Many reviews highlight the quality of the meats, especially the grilled pork belly, which is served with jalapeños, elevating the taste to new heights. Banchan accompaniments like kimchi offer a delightful contrast to the main dishes, enhancing the dining experience.
Despite being a popular spot, guests consistently note that the restaurant doesn’t feel overcrowded, allowing for a civil and enjoyable meal. Whether dining in or opting for takeout, like many loyal customers, you can expect your food to arrive hot and ready to devour. Overall, GREEN PEPPER is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Korean meal in a relaxed setting.

Friendly staff quickly seated us. Menu had pictures which made ordering easy. Dishes seemed authentic and were served with banchan of kimchi, a macaroni salad, and cucumber. Pitcher of water was put on table, which was convenient. Portions were generous. They have lots of drinks as self service in an open air refrigerator. Was somewhat busy, but didn't feel over crowded. Most patrons appeared Asian, which I think is a good sign and comment on authenticity. Restraunt appeared clean and well decorated. We found street parking fairly close without a problem. Overall, great place to stop for a lunch.

Cozy vibes at this delicious and moderately priced Korean spot. Whether you're in the mood for K chicken wings or bibimbap, you will be satisfied with the large portions and depth of flavor. Staff and timing were prompt and the food was sizzling when it arrived at our table.

This is my first ever Korean Restaurant experience (I normally eat Chinese, Thai Jamaican or Japanese food) my friend recommended this place so we went. Wow, the food is amazing!! I can't remember how to pronounce all of names of these foods, but they were all good!!! There's this sushi-like roll and that's my favorite. I then ordered spicy chicken and it's on point. My husband ordered beef and that was great too. Overall great experience and I'm definitely gonna try more Korean food in the future!

As someone who loves Korean BBQ, I am saddened by the fact that Pittsburgh does not have any actual ‘true’ KBBQ spots (lots of great Korean spots, but none where you actually have the grill top at your table to cook the meats yourself - still waiting on K Pot!!). However, we get takeout from Green Pepper once a week and we love it. Great quality meats, best we’ve found so far in PGH (just wish we had the endless banchan ;)). We’ve never dined inside but from pics it looks like a cute chill spot. FYI every time we get our order it’s still piping hot (especially the kimchi stew) so the food travels well!! I get the grilled pork belly every time, and my husband gets the bulgogi. Both excellent options, both come with white rice and you can add kimchi and lettuce. The pork belly comes with a lot of jalapenos which I loooooooove!

I placed an online order for pickup of both kimbap options (beef and fish) and shared for lunch. Both were hearty and delicious and we really appreciated both kimchi sides! Service was super quick, friendly and attentive. I did not dine in but the atmosphere in the entry was lovely and relaxing with comfy seating, a peaceful water fountain and plants galore. I love kimbap for lunch so I look forward to stopping in again soon!

Super solid Korean spot in the middle of town! Didn’t expect the food to be this good. Not the best I’ve ever had but it definitely hit the spot. Pork belly was nicely charred and slightly crispy on the outside. The small pickled side dishes were on point as well. We even got to try chicken feet which was the first time we’d ever seen that outside of dim sum. Was interesting but probably won’t order that again. Lots of street parking right outside on a Tuesday night. Will definitely be back!

I went in for a quick to go order, I got the chive pancakes and a matcha tea. So yum! The lady was super friendly and nice, food was out within 10 minutes which is awesome!

I was worried because of some recent negative reviews, but the food was truly delicious. I was especially surprised by the pickled lettuce and side dishes that came with the pork belly — they tasted so authentically Korean! (It must have been really hard to source those ingredients here.) When I had the soft tofu stew on the first day, the flavor was a bit mild for a Korean palate, so on the second day I asked if they could make the kimchi stew spicier with less broth — and wow, it was one of the best tuna kimchi stews I’ve had, even compared to ones in Korea. I’m so happy to have found a spot like this in Pittsburgh, just like the one in Singapore. I’ll definitely keep coming back whenever I miss home or crave something healthy during my long business trip. Thank you so much, owner!
